Apparently our snake oil dealing Governor Rick Perry is lying his way through the state of California in an effort to trick CEOs into moving to Texas.
Of course most folks in Cali, unlike those of us in Texas, have no clue that Rick Perry is incapable of fessing up to the sin of his reckless fiscal polices. For Texas is flat out broke and it has lost more jobs than California had in 2010. In fact, Texas ranked second in the nation in job losses.
Texas actually lost 352,500 non-farm jobs from 2008 to December 2009, according to seasonally adjusted data from the Texas Workforce Commission.
Over the past three years, the period cited in the Journal, Texas lost 61,600 jobs, according to Workforce Commission data from March 2008 to March 2011.
Of course, our numbers are still better than those in many other states, including California. Texas' jobless rate is 8.1 percent, compared with California's 12 percent.
Earth to California. Whatever you do please oh please do not, for one nano second, believe one word uttered from the mouth of the Texas Governor Snake Oil Dealer. While on the campaign trail in 2010 Rick Perry bragged about a budget surplus when in fact there has never been any surplus at all. And now, thanks to Rick Perry and his ilk, the people of this state will shoulder a new and truly wretched whole new world of hurt and suffering given our lying Governor's reckless and irresponsibly hidden $27 billion budget shortfall.
If you move to Texas, Cali boys and girls, please do know that our schools rank second to the bottom of the pile nationwide. If you move to Texas, especially to the thriving city of Houston, you had better be prepared to shell out between $15 and $20K per child for private school tuition.
Texas also boasts the highest number of uninsured residents. Should an uninsured driver total your car in a wreck, oh, well, so sad, too bad for you. For big insurance lobbyist owns Rick Perry and most Texas Teapublican lawmakers. And if you should happen to have the misfortune of showing up in a hospital ER on a weekend with a kid who broke a bone or is choking, do be prepared to wait for between 6 to 16 hours at least. While you child cries out in pain. Or chokes and nearly dies.
Please also know that Rick Perry and his far right wing teapublican party (that includes secessionists, bigots, xenophobes, birthers, Birchers, neo nazis and not so closeted KKK members and other garden variety racists) have serious issues with women and voter rights.
Thanks to the religious extremist fundies running the state a woman now has to undergo an expensive medical procedure before exercising her right to choose.
I guess the Texas Taliban Teapublicans will soon require women wear face masks, shoulder to ankle long robes and veils before showing up in public. One has to wonder if women in Texas will still have the right to drive our own cars given the Texas Taliban agenda.
Voters, especially those whose skin color (or eye color for that matter) happens to be black or brown, must produce state issued ID in order to exercise one's constitutional right to vote. Texas Teapublicans seem to have serious issues with our national constitutional rights.
That and the Texas Taliban has injected its right wing religious extremism into the text book curriculum for public schools. Like, slavery is an OK and quaint notion.
But hey, taxes are low though fees are high and the quality of life is rather bleak if one is not a CEO or seriously wealthy. Cali boys and girls should be well prepared to buy one car per family member for there are few viable public transportation systems available in the large urban areas.
Please also know that Rick Perry and his teapublican far right extremists are doing to Texas what Republicans did to California in 1978 when it passed Proposition 13.
And now Cali is flat out busted. And so is Texas, in case Governor Snake Oil Dealer failed to mention it.
If I were you Cali, I would run the snake oil dealing Rick Perry out of your state in a NYC nanosecond.
